These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your access to and use of the DocuLegal platform, an AI-powered legal document analysis service provided by DocuLegal ('we', 'us'). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the DocuLegal platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using DocuLegal on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our services.
2.Service Description
DocuLegal provides an AI-powered legal document analysis platform that includes:
- 8 specialized AI agents for contract analysis, compliance monitoring, litigation support, legal research, document analysis, regulatory interpretation, privacy assessment, and advisory services
- Automated document processing and risk detection
- Legal document generation with GDPR-compliant templates
- Analytics dashboard with case tracking and outcome predictions
- Secure document storage within EU data centers
- API access for integration with existing legal workflows (Professional and Enterprise plans)
3.Account Creation and Responsibilities
To use DocuLegal, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Ensuring that your account information remains accurate and up to date
- Compliance with applicable laws and regulations in your use of the platform
4.Subscription and Billing
DocuLegal offers subscription plans billed monthly or annually in euros (EUR). All prices are displayed inclusive of applicable VAT for EU customers. Key billing terms:
- Free trial: 14 days with full access, no credit card required
- Monthly billing: charged at the beginning of each billing cycle
- Annual billing: charged annually with a discount equivalent to 2 free months
- VAT: applicable VAT is calculated based on your country of residence within the EU
- Upgrades: prorated billing for plan upgrades within a billing cycle
- Downgrades: effective at the start of the next billing cycle
- Refunds: 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers
5.Intellectual Property
The DocuLegal platform, including its AI models, algorithms, software, design, content, and documentation, is the exclusive intellectual property of DocuLegal protected under Spanish and EU intellectual property law. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform for its intended purpose. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on our platform.
6.User Content and Data Ownership
You retain all ownership rights to the documents and data you upload to DocuLegal. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process it solely for providing our services. Key principles:
- Your documents remain your exclusive property at all times
- We do not use your documents to train our AI models without explicit consent
- You can export or delete your data at any time
- Processed documents are automatically deleted per our data retention policy
- We use industry-standard encryption to protect your documents
7.Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use DocuLegal in compliance with all applicable laws and these Terms. Prohibited activities include:
- Using the platform to process illegal or fraudulent documents
- Attempting to circumvent security measures or access other users' data
- Using automated tools to scrape, extract, or overload the platform
- Redistributing or reselling access to DocuLegal services
- Uploading malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
- Using the service for purposes other than legitimate legal document analysis
8.Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the DocuLegal platform:
- We aim for high uptime across all plans
- Scheduled maintenance is performed during low-traffic hours with advance notice
- We will notify users promptly of any significant service disruptions
9.Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DocuLegal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our AI-generated analyses and recommendations are intended as professional assistance tools and do not constitute legal advice. Users should always verify AI outputs and consult with qualified legal professionals for final decisions. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10.Termination
Either party may terminate the service relationship under the following conditions:
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms
- Upon termination, you have 30 days to export your data before deletion
- Provisions regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination
11.Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Spain. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of DocuLegal shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madrid, Spain. For EU consumers, this does not affect your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence as provided by applicable EU consumer protection legislation.
12.Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email and/or a prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days before the new terms take effect. Your continued use of DocuLegal after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may terminate your subscription before the new terms take effect.
